Virgo Full Moon – February 22, 2016

The Full Moon Forms at 03 degrees, 33 minutes Virgo at 10:19 am PST on February 22, 2016.  We have passed this moment now.  I’m a little behind due to personal circumstances.  We are four degrees into Pisces and about 2 weeks away from the first eclipse of 2016.  This will be a total solar eclipse at the Pisces New Moon on March 8-9.  This upcoming eclipse is also occurs at the first of three Supermoons in a row.  If you can’t feel the mounting tension and uncertainty – well, I just don’t know what to tell you.

You might remember last spring’s full moon in Virgo.  It was the official end of the Cardinal Cross and the beginning of the ascendance of mutable energies.  This full moon was also followed by a total solar eclipse.  Those energies initiated a world-changing template that propelled us forward from 2012 – 2015.  Their separating waves continue to crash onto the beach of our current mutable Neptune dominated reality.

We have reached another jumping off point.  This Virgo Full Moon closes out the cycle begun last year with the Pisces total eclipse of the Sun in March and continued through the Virgo Solar eclipse in September.  Saturn is currently at 15 degrees Sadge, half way through the sign, squaring Chiron and the South Node in Pisces and Jupiter and the North Node in Virgo.  Chiron conjunct the South Node presents us with the opportunity to heal the deep, debilitating, and ancient wounds that afflict us at both personal and collective levels.  Jupiter Conjunct the North Node, opposing Chiron and squaring Saturn, will make us painfully aware of the skewed, inconsistent and sometimes violent beliefs surrounding our impetus to formulate and activate systems of healing.  It is not enough to heal the spirit.  We must work more kindly and reverently on the physical plane with our earth and our bodies.  The Moon conjunct Jupiter and the North Node and square Saturn on the 23rd emphasize this.  That same day, the Nodes will station direct signaling the start of forward momentum that will carry us to the Pisces total eclipse on March 9.

Adjustments need to be made between now and then.  Eclipses mark a definite divide as well as a return.  Eighteen years ago on March 8, 1997 we had an eclipse at 18 degrees Pisces – the same degree of the approaching Pisces eclipse.  What has been completed in the last 19 years?  What have you learned?   What can be taken forward and what must be left behind?  These eclipses juxtapose the Virgoan ideals of precision, order, and analysis against the Piscean ethos of divine synchronicity, chaos, and complete acceptance.  But don’t be fooled – this polarity can be as treacherous as black ice and then again, as peaceful as a sun-kissed day at the beach.  Just watch when you’re driving fast around those curves and never turn your back to the ocean.

About those adjustments.  If you’re feeling like you’re in a creative rut, now is a good time to crawl out and try some new medicine.  Saturn trine Uranus grants fiery inspiration to implement new systems and new truths.  It is past time to abandon the problem/solution mentality that has dominated our collective psyche for the last 2000 years.  It was helpful while it lasted but it has become degenerate, decadent, and utterly useless.  Toss out your black/ white, yes/no, either/or thinking.  Inspiration, innovation and inclusion are available in good supply right now.  Saturn is feeling pretty creative in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries is always up for a good bonfire.  Toss that old paradigm shit in the fire and get on with it.  The North Node in Virgo really is an indicator of collective health and wellness.  It’s up.   It’s on our agenda to heal. We must embrace healthier systems at every level imaginable.  Attachment to old forms will only lead to the continuance of suffering.  Returning again and again to habitual forms of familiar suffering will surely lead to deeper pain, wider suffering and grief.  Saturn is leading us to a more expansive understanding of what is true.  He is taking us deeper into the great mysteries of existence.  He is removing the blindfold.  We are now able to glimpse the truth of oneness.  Everything is me.  Everything is you.  We are truly one.

Just as the yoga asanas are actually preparation for meditation and enlightenment; which are the true yoga – unity, the physical plane is boot camp for enlightenment and ascension.  The ego/personality self wants to keep everything the same – even suffering.  It takes pride – in the predictability of stasis.  There’s more to it.  There’s more to see, more to feel.  The wave is cresting.  Get ready to ride.  Change or be changed.
