Scorpio New Moon and Solar Eclipse – November 3, 2013
The New Moon forms at 11 degrees, 15 minutes Scorpio at 4:49 am PST on November 3, 2013. This Solar eclipse will be a hybrid eclipse. It will begin as an annular or ring eclipse at its start in the Atlantic. As it moves it will become a total eclipse. The path of the total eclipse is long and extremely narrow, sweeping across the Atlantic Ocean and Equatorial Africa. Most of the world will see a partial eclipse which will be visible from easternmost parts of North America, the Caribbean, the northern tip of South America, southern Greenland, the Atlantic and southern Europe, Africa, Madagascar, and the Middle East. The Americas will see the eclipse around sunrise. Europe, Africa, and the Middle East will see it in the afternoon.
Solar Eclipses happen very close to the same degree every 19 years. On November 3, 1994, a solar eclipse occurred at 10 degrees, 54 minutes Scorpio. What was going on in your life then? Eclipses represent powerful cycles that are opening and closing. What is resonating from your past now? What are you releasing and what are you keeping? How do these echoes affect you now? As New Moon passes in front of the Sun, creating a shadow, what can you release from your shadow self? What will emerge as a result of that release? How can you use the energy of this eclipse?
Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, now headquartered in Capricorn, squares Uranus in Aries exactly at 09 degrees 25 minutes on November 1. This is the fourth of seven exact squares – the center of this energy. You are probably sick to death of hearing about this configuration. But it’s major. And arriving so close to the solar eclipse; it merits just a bit more discussion. But first we need to examine the line-up of planets in Scorpio. Pluto may be in Capricorn, but trust me; he has power to spare when it comes to conducting affairs of planets in his own sign.
So we have Mercury retrograde, the North Node, Moon, Sun, and Saturn all in Scorpio and all with 6 degrees of each other. First let’s look at Mercury because he’s leading the parade right now. He’s retrograde, he’s in Scorpio and he likes to play games with information and communications. Have you noticed information floating to the surface that had previously been concealed? Look what’s in the news. Information gathering, spying, political intrigue and select bits and pieces of information are beginning to coalesce. Shadowy reports of American Edward Snowden, (the former NSA contractor) and his new life in Russia are beginning to surface. Rebecca Brooks and her long time buddy/lover Andy Coulson are being accused of conspiracy in the British tabloid phone hacking scandal. Don’t forget the NSA phone surveillance of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other important U.S. allies. These stories represent the tip of the information/misinformation iceberg! A casual scan of any newspaper or a trip through the channels on your TV will reveal many more! But more importantly, these shadow stories and Spy VS Spy scenarios mirror our own process of concealment and discovery. What are we carefully concealing from ourselves? And most importantly – what will the consequences be when we reveal this information to ourselves? And really, won’t it be better if you are the one to let yourself in on these secrets? And we’re only a week into the retrograde period!!!
North Node and Saturn in Scorpio spell consequences for actions taken. Time to pay the Piper. Chickens coming home to roost! These two were conjunct awhile back and are currently separating but still powerful. Add in the Sun and the Moon and a Solar Eclipse… and…. Well, you’re feeling it aren’t you? It doesn’t help that Uranus is squaring Pluto from Aries, ruled by Mars; Mars being the original and ancient ruler of Scorpio and still very much involved with that sign. Nor does it make things easier that Saturn in Scorpio is in mutual reception with Pluto in Capricorn. (It’s like they traded houses for a while. Saturn is living at Pluto’s place and vice versa). We need to remember however, that these are signatures of reformation and restructuring. We also need to remember that when change occurs, it often involves destruction before reconstruction. There may be some serious disassembly required before we sort this situation out!
So basically – we don’t know anything! Not anything about anything. We will not even begin to glimpse the truth until the end of the Mercury retrograde and even then – probably won’t get anything resembling truth until Mercury regains his degree of retrogradation in early December. This is a long haul with Mercury in Scorpio! So don’t speculate or gossip or add to the pile of possible misinterpretations. It’s time to dig deep and excavate. Stop telling and retelling yourself tired old war stories of your life. You know these have been carefully constructed to minimize actual truth and real feeling. These have got to go. The longer you lie to yourself the easier it will be to accept the lies that are told to you. This is a great time to stay in your own energy. Refine and polish that energy. Make it glow with the light of revelation and truth. This eclipse slams one door and opens another. There are two saying to remember: Don’t let the door hit you in the ass. Be the change you want to see in the world. Stay conscious, my friends!!!
