Tonight’s Full Moon will be exact at 07 degrees, 06 minutes Scorpio at 8:31 PDT at 8:31 pm PDT and a 3:31 am overnight in Europe. The Sun and Uranus in Taurus oppose the Moon in Scorpio as she simultaneously squares Saturn in Aquarius. It’s a big old T-Square. When we think of Scorpio we thin about its ruling planets – Mars, the ancient warrior ruler and avenger of old and Pluto the modern galactic force for transformation on a grand scale – who will be stationing retrograde tomorrow.
Pluto has been in Capricorn since January 2008. The length of a full Pluto cycle is 248 years. We Earthlings discovered him in 1930. He’s been out there doing what he does for a long time. He will move into Aquarius in 2024 – almost 100 years after his discovery and about 148 years after the beginning of this current Pluto cycle which began around 1760 (give or take). So we’re on track for the beginning of the next Pluto cycle. It’s an interesting coincidence- don’t you think? Pluto’s motto is “Transform or Die” So what do we make of this situation? Last year’s Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto conjunction was the beginning of enormous changes here on planet Earth. The imperative for change is now fully on display – everywhere – for all to see – you can’t miss it!
This is the beginning of a long curve of change. If we stand on the ground outside and look around we see a few mountains and maybe some fields – but we don’t see Earth as round. It looks mostly flat. The long and generous curve of our planet must be observed from a great height in order to see its spherical shape. One must take a literal overview when considering our planet and its future. But we can’t see it from where we’re sitting. Our understanding of the necessary changes must be first-hand and personal. We’ve got some big decisions coming up and we need to make them soon. Tonight’s Full Moon will bring light to the darkness. We have been making one adjustment after the other – and still – not much is changing. So – do you think we’re done making decisions and adjustments? We have just begun. What we have her is a Full Moon PLUS!
All Full Moons spotlight opposing archetypes. The Taurus-Scorpio polarity is one of the most challenging. The fixed energies of the current T-Square involve the Moon in Scorpio, in opposition to Sun, Uranus, Venus, and Mercury Taurus, both square to Saturn in Aquarius. The fixed T-Square pushes for dissolution of the deeply entrenched and ignored patterns that the shadow side s of Uranus and Aquarius, pointing out that it leads to buried emotions and needs – specially with regard to finances, security, and priorities – it will be our personal decisions, values, and desires for the future that will map and manifest those desires.
Taurus is the first Earth sign. It introduces us to the idea of grounding our energies here on Earth and developing a healthy relationship to the physical plane. It is a simple, stable and peaceful credo. Scorpio is the second water sign. It masters lessons of projection, physical power, and emotional depth. Taurus is simple. Scorpio is complex.
As the saying goes – “We live in interesting times.” Pluto will be retrograde in Capricorn until October 6th when it will go direct at 24 degrees 18 minutes Capricorn. This is a relatively short retrograde that will only intensify the archetypal energies of Pluto and up the ante considerably in the push for transformation at a grand scale. The Lord of the Underworld will reveal his profound influence over our unconscious mind as well as the methods of transforming our fears shadow and short-comings.
The momentum will continue. There is nothing to be afraid of. We know the way. Remember – we can do it- We remember how to do this- Remember – There are no problems – Only solutions.
