Pisces New Moon – March 13, 2021

Pisces New Moon – March 13, 2021 – The Dream Oasis One Year On

Tonight’s New Moon is exact at 23 degrees, 03 minutes Pisces at 2:21 am PST and reaching full Moon strength at 10:21 am GMT. As we near the final decan of Pisces, we see a time change coming on Sunday, March 14 (daylight savings time in the USA) and the Vernal Equinox in the near distance, coming up next Saturday, March 20, at 2:38 am PDT/10:38 am GMT.  There’s a lot of characteristic shift and change that comes with the beginning of the astrological new year. We are finally ready to bid farewell to 2020 and to let 2021 begin in earnest.

Tonight at this New Moon we see the conjunction of Venus, Jupiter, Neptune, Sun and Moon in Pisces. As you may remember, Venus is exalted in Pisces and Jupiter is the ancient and original ruler of the sign. Neptune is the modern acknowledged ruler of Pisces. He holds sway here. However, those who show up to take part in the Piscean landscape usually get a vote at the conference table as to how things will proceed. It’s a very open and everchanging process. You might even say “There are no rules, no boundaries, etc – only being.  Do not underestimate the powerful and potentially confusing agenda promoted by these five planets. It is a blending of energies that can bewitch, enrich, enhance, support, champion, or completely obliterate any situation. It can go in any direction.

This planetary gathering suggests that it’s time to identify and strategize. What do you desire? How will you achieve this in the uncertainty that is the present?  We have all experienced loss and disappointment over the last year. This disenfranchisement, sadness, death, and continued state of unknowing is difficult to maintain.

One year ago I christened this Pisces New Moon time period “The Dream Oasis”. And I hate to say it but – boy was I ever right! Today is the first anniversary of the “Pandemic”.  I hesitate to say “Welcome Back” because it feels as if we’ve never left this real/virtual and undefined space. We have become rather inured to it – or at least partially accepting. Such is the nature of the Oasis – fully encompassing, yet not quite real – but somehow real enough for most.

The Oasis can be overwhelming. It’s a place where entities known and unknown can easily become pervasive and form a sort of ad hoc authority that is un-seen, un-named, un-specific, and potentially positive or dangerous – or something else entirely …   It’s a place that’s not fully formed. The parameters and purposes are unknown and uncharted. All experiences are permitted, valid, and possible. The Oasis is popular. All things are permitted here. And by the looks of it we will be here a while longer.  It’s a kind of a virtual “Burning Man” – Mostly unseen –  without the being there.

We are closing out the Piscean age, a 2,000 year period that brought the quest for “Christ Consciousness” and provided the impetus to become a fully awakened human and to honor our divine origins. Some of us are not doing such a great job with this but over-all, at a planetary level we have made decent (but very uneven) progress. Pisces is depicted as two fish swimming in opposite directions and yoked together – symbolizing the totality and inseparability of the ideas of transcendence/ immanence, particle/ wave, and temporal/eternal. Pisces calls us to discard the notion of duality, and to trust the realization of connectedness with all life forms.  The Piscean agenda is often vague but wide open. The high side is exalted for its humanity, inspiration, passion, imagination, artistry, caring, and action. The downside is difficult, confused, disillusioned, grandiose, lacking in initiative, and at times over-estimating its own abilities and efforts. As the last sign of the Zodiac, Pisces invites any and all comers to visit and participate in the “all that is-ness” of the sign.

Next Saturday (March 20) is the Vernal Equinox. Take stock of what you’ve learned and unlearned this year. Our sensitivity to light and our planet’s magnetic field is very real. It modulates our perceptions of reality.  The days before and after the equinox are powerful times for meditation, prayer, ritual and action. New information will likely emerge around March 24 when Mercury in Pisces squares the Nodes of the Moon in Gemini and Sagittarius and again on March 26, when Mars in Gemini conjuncts the Nodal axis. Next up- Libra Full Moon on March 28.

Here we go – this is the REAL beginning of 2021.
