Aquarius New Moon – January 20, 2015
The New Moon forms at 00 degrees, 08 minutes Aquarius at 5:13 a.m. PST on January 20, 2015. This New Moon is the fourth in a series of six new moons occurring at the early degrees of their sign.
It is also the first of six SuperMoons this year. A SuperMoon is where the Moon is at its closest approach to Earth (perigee), and at the same time, in alignment with the Sun and Earth (syzygy). SuperMoons produce greater gravitational and electro-magnetic pull. This increased force effects the tides and tectonic movement as well as our own physical and emotional bodies. This New Moon is also square the solar eclipse of October 2014 which formed at 00 degrees, 24 minutes Scorpio. And finally, this year we will have two New Moons in Aquarius; this one at 00 degrees (the very first minutes of Aquarius) and the next occurring on February 18 at 29 degrees, 59 minutes (the very last seconds of Aquarius).
Are you getting the picture now?
The time between these two new moons will be critical.
Aquarius invests in the future and believes in the power of community and unified consciousness. Aquarians are the original crowd-sourcers, using the power of the collective to push humanity forward in every way imaginable. This is a time of initiation at a personal and universal level. All of a sudden, the ante is up and the learning curve has gotten precariously steep. The individual and the collective are merging. Are you ready for this? As John Lennon said: “I am he as you are he as you are me – And we are all together.”
Oh yes, you say, I know that. But think about it. Feel into it. How deep are you willing to go? Are you willing to experience unity at intimate and universal levels simultaneously? Are you ready for a total evolution in your consciousness? Are you ready for the radical responsibility that will be necessary when you feel into everyone and everything and find that they are you – at every level? Where do you stand? Where are you willing to stand?
Consider these questions between now and February 18. Aquarius is an air sign – concerned with thought and ideas. It’s perhaps best to first unpack these ideas from an intellectual perspective before trying to immerse yourself in the feeling aspect of them. It could become overwhelming very quickly!
On January 21, Mercury stations retrograde at 17 degrees Aquarius. This will perhaps add to the confusion, but it will also provide us with an opportunity to review events and changes that have taken place since the solar eclipse last October. This retrograde will double down on the need to gain clarity about where we’ve been and where we’re going. The margins for error are getting smaller. The tolerances are becoming tighter. Embrace a code of personal precision in thinking, feeling and consciousness. This will go a long way toward successfully navigating the next few years. We definitely need to upgrade our operating systems. Let Mercury Rx assist you with this process. The mutable energies that will dominate this coming time period will require adjustments on our part! More on that later!
At the New Moon, the ruler of Aquarius, Uranus, is conjunct the South Node in Aries and square Pluto in Capricorn. Conjunctions mark a transition/initiation period while squares signal adjustments and critical turning points. This is the beginning of a major shift. Consciousness will evolve. Our perceptions and experience of the world – both physical and non-physical are changing and will continue to evolve. We will gain knowledge of our place in our universe and the cosmos. Aquarius believes in new systems, new visions, cooperative efforts, and a utopian future. Use the time between the Aquarian New Moons to stake your claim to this new territory.
Goo Goo GaJoob!!!
