The New Moon forms at 8 degrees, 51 minutes Taurus, at 11:14 pm, PDT on April 28, and at 6:14 am GMT on April 29, 2014.  We are still vibrating from the exactitude of last week’s Cardinal Grand Cross.  Eclipses come in pairs.  On April 15, at the Full Moon we experienced a total lunar eclipse.  At this New Moon in Taurus, we will experience a solar eclipse.  This will be much less dramatic than the lunar eclipse as it is an annular eclipse.  But it will be rather special.  According to NASA, this eclipse is classified as “non-central annular”.  This is a rare event.  Out of the 3,956 annular eclipses occurring during the 5,000 year period -2000 to +3000, only 68 or 1.7% of them are non-central.  This means that the central axis of the Moon’s antumbral shadow misses the Earth completely while the shadow edge grazes the planet. This event will be visible in the southern Indian Ocean, Australia, Antarctica and the southernmost parts of the Pacific.  But relatively speaking, this eclipse is more like a whisper than a shout.

The eclipses bracket the Grand Cardinal Cross.  Eclipses run in cycles coming very close to the same degree of a sign every 19 years.  On April 29, 1995, a solar eclipse occurred at 8 degrees 56 minutes Taurus – just 5 minutes difference from this eclipse.  So in addition to bracketing the Grand Cross, this solar eclipse closes the book on events of the last 19 years. But it goes back farther than that. The seeds of this time were sown in 1964- 1966 at the conjunction of Uranus and Pluto in Virgo.  If you were alive at that time you will remember the feeling.  We are now living the referendum on those times.  The chickens have come home to roost and they’ve brought every other bird they could find with them.  And now we begin a new era – with a whole lot of birds in the air and on the roof.

As the Grand Cross recedes, we are awash in the momentum of the Grand Trine in water.  Saturn in Scorpio, Venus and Chiron in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer are supplying strong support for the new feelings and emotions brought on by the events of the last month.  You’ve felt it.   World events have taken a bizarre turn.  Plutocrats have unmasked themselves and are busily jockeying for power.  The knives are out.  Personal irritability and anxiety is high.  Erratic behavior abounds.  Under this aspect we are experiencing feelings, intuitions and simple knowing that even three months ago, we could never have imagined.  As a culture, we are mostly unpracticed at this.  We have yet to learn how to honor and act upon our deepest knowing and truth.  We have been trained to obey “science” and to distain “intuition”.  But little by little we are learning to trust our deep infallible knowledge.

In the last month there has been much illness, many accidents, and quite a lot of death.  The homo-sapiens can only take so much stress, disharmony and unloving behavior.  Many have been injured, sick or have departed.  Saturn in Scorpio will help us by preserving form as we retool our content. We are creator beings.  We must take radical responsibility for our thoughts, actions, words, and feelings.  We don’t have a template for this work.  We have no established narrative to follow but we must begin.  We must trust and work with our deepest knowing.  We must work with love and faith.

So….welcome to the recovery room!  We realize that you’re still pretty groggy from the anesthesia.  You’re probably feeling tender and sore too.    And it’s completely normal that you’re still a bit unfamiliar and possibly uncomfortable with the new feelings in your body, brain and soul.  The weird visions/energies of the last weeks (possibly even months and years) will settle down and begin to take on new meaning and importance. It’s been shocking – yes, but don’t be alarmed.   The psychic surgery is over now.  For the time being just concentrate on integration and becoming mobile again.  For now just revel and rejoice in being present in your glorious human form.  Enjoy your brain.  Let it help you but don’t let it run the show.  Befriend your feelings.  They are truer and closer to the mark than you were led to believe.  The Moon is exalted in Taurus.  She loves it there!  And she loves us too.  The Moon is our friend and companion.  She wants us to be happy and to never feel alone.  Smell the spring air.   Feel your feelings as solidly as you feel the rich spring earth beneath your feet.  Just do that.  That’s enough for now.
