Rabbit, Rabbit AGAIN! Two Full Moons in a row on the first day of the month. Tonight’s Moon is Full at 09 degrees, 08 minutes of Aries at 2:05 pm PDT and at 9:05 pm GMT. She is conjunct Chiron retrograde at 07 degrees. As I write, Saturn is stationing direct at 26 degrees Capricorn. In three day’s time Pluto will station direct at 23 degrees Capricorn. Jupiter is moving along quite nicely having completed his retrograde turn back in the middle of September. So no worries there. It looks like the Capricorn stellium (with the addition of asteroid Pallas Athena) is back in business and moving ahead.

The last quarter of 2020 will require us to be fully present, balanced, objective, flexible, focused, brave, grounded, and heart-centered. Venus, at 28 degrees Leo is getting packed up and ready to move into Virgo on Friday. She and the Libra Sun enjoy their parting conversation, comparing notes on what it’s been like to be in the sign of each other’s rulership. There’s a grand trine in Fire today with Mars retrograde in Aries, Venus at the end of Leo and the South Node in the last decan of Sagittarius. It’s the seasonal transition to the 3rd act of the astrological year 2020. (the actual astrological New Year begins at the Spring Equinox every year). And we all know that the 3rd act is always packed with surprises and plenty of action.

Keep your eyes, ears, mind, heart, and soul open. There’s a great deal of instability now. All the Cardinal signs are at 00 degrees on the cross of matter making it difficult to choose among their energies and to ground and/or anchor in for the duration. Each has its set of advantages and disadvantages – and rightfully so, as this transition is not about setting anything in stone, but truly about setting off heighted states of consciousness and action that will lead to a new state and way of being. The Aries -Libra Full Moon encourages us to balance and examine our relationships to ourselves, our surroundings and community, and to the cosmos that supports it all.

Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto will remain in Capricorn until mid-December, when one by one they will depart for Aquarius. The last time these three met was in 1285 – that’s 735 years ago in case you’re curious. At that time, this planetary group announced the end of the High Middle Ages and the Birth of the Renaissance (which took about 200 years to fully come about). Jupiter and Saturn will conjunct at 00 degrees 29 minutes of Aquarius at the Winter Solstice on December 21, 2020. The Capricornian themes of transformation, power, and authority will be joined by the Aquarian imperatives of innovation, reform, collaboration, community, and equality.

Chiron conjuncts this Moon in Aries. His transit of that sign has heightened our collective need to heal ourselves so that we may assist each other, personally, locally, collectively, globally, and universally. It’s a tall order. But if anyone has the courage, strength, and energy for the job, it’s Aries who will stop at nothing to achieve its most important goals. The emphasis on the Aries/Libra polarity heightens the necessity and importance of healing by reminding us of our responsibility to our feminine and masculine selves, our relationships, sense of fairness, cooperation, diplomacy, and balance.

The inner planets, Mercury, Venus, and Mars are busily aspecting the outer planets and occasionally, each other. Mars is extra busy lately. He will form the second of 3 squares with Pluto on October 9th, indicating that a shift is taking place with regard to our representation of the ancient masculine and feminine warrior archetypes. Pluto and Mars have much in common and seek to re-align our current misaligned and depleted model of the Hero/Heroine with their ancient and sacred source. This may prove to be a difficult task – but it’s one that certainly needs to be addressed and re-invigorated. Mercury will station retrograde at 12 degrees Scorpio on October 13, just before the New Moon in Libra. His retrograde will highlight our issues around power, authority, control, buried secrets and emotions, and shadow work. Venus is busy setting up quarters in Virgo for the time being. We’ll hear more from her later in the month when she trines the Capricorn stellium.

These are intense times. Change is rolling out and there’s no stopping it. We’re in the middle of a long and seemingly endless curve. It can be disorienting. The way seems obvious, flat, and linear; but of course, living in these times on a round planet, the path and the journey are curved – just like time and space. There is so much potential here now – So much extra space and time within the confines of what we ordinarily refer to as an hour, a day, a week, a year… Sit with and in the “Space”. Be present in and with the “Time”. We are here at the very end of the previous Renaissance – and at the absolute start of the new one. It’s amazing to have landed here 735 years later. Are we lucky or did we choose this? Either way – it’s an honor.
