The Full Moon forms at 04 degrees, 40 minutes Aries at 7:50 pm PDT on September 27, and at 2:50 am GMT on September 28, 2015.  This Full Moon is a doozy.  So here’s a few SuperMoon Total Lunar Eclipse facts!

This Full Moon is a SuperMoon just like the Pisces Full Moon of August 29, and it’s the fourth of four total Lunar Eclipses in a row, spaced six lunar months apart.  For this reason, it’s also known as a Blood Moon.  A SuperMoon occurs when the Moon’s orbit brings it closest to the earth. This is known as perigee.  This weekend’s Full Moon will be the closest Super Moon of the year.  The total eclipse will be visible in most of North America and all of South America after sunset on the 27th.  In Europe, Africa and the Middle East, the greatest eclipse takes place after midnight and before sunrise. (Check your local sources for more exact times).  A partial lunar eclipse will be visible after sunset in western Alaska and in the far western parts of Asia.  The eclipse will not be seen in the eastern parts of Asia or Australia and New Zealand.   It’s the Harvest Moon in the northern hemisphere, being the Full Moon closest to the equinox.  In the southern Hemisphere it’s the first Full Moon of Spring. During this eclipse the Moon will be a very dark coppery crimson red.   The next SuperMoon Total Lunar Eclipse will be in 2033.  So make sure you get out there and see it if at all possible!

This Super Moon is in Aries, conjunct the South Node at 01 Aries.  This is the descent of spirit into matter.  This is the flash point where we become not only human, but more; we become capable of transcendence.  The last two weeks have been packed with planetary stations, retrogrades and direct motion, eclipses and an equinox.  Saturn entered Sagittarius on the 18th.  Crowds were cheering round the world and the curtains were thrown open.  Gone was the vision of Saturn as the Scorpion.  He appeared on Sagittarius’s doorstep as a fellow traveler, teacher and guru.  Saturn is still Saturn, of course.  He’s still bringing structure, discipline and intention to the party.  And within that, he wants us to live at our highest, and most expansive, growing and progressing beyond petty fractiousness and transactional notions of love, honor, justice, equality, freedom and more.  This is big picture stuff.  And Saturn wants to help us get it right.  He will be working with us in this regard for the next three years.

This year’s eclipses have been hard taskmasters.   The Total Lunar Eclipse of last April 4th sealed and finalized the energies of the Cardinal Cross and ushered in a period of examination of our relationships to each other as well as our relationship to our perceived realities.  We spent the summer with Venus, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto retrograde.  Much was obscured and much was just plain hidden from view.   But now:   Much has been revealed.  The last month has been a particularly humbling and perplexing time.  But so much has come clear in the last two weeks since the Solar Eclipse on September 12-13.  Saturn’s movement from 29 Scorpio into Sag flipped the switch – turned the on the lights and tightened the focus that just couldn’t come clear before that.  The knowledge is hard won, shocking, and at times hard to swallow.  But it is also true, concrete, and extremely useful.

And here we are again at the Aries-Libra Total Full Moon eclipse.  Six months older and six months wiser, but still dealing with the themes of relationship, perception, and power – both personal and political.  And so it begins.  This is a time of sacred promise.  It’s a jumping-off point.  This next leg of the journey will be utterly transformative.  I would even go so far as to say that you will not recognize yourself six to eight months from now.  We will be translating, integrating, and disseminating information at ever increasing speeds with exponentially increasing accuracy and acuity.

This is a rising of energy, a ground-swell, a tidal wave of intelligence that will flow from all quarters.  Some of the information will be beneficial and some will be destructive.  It will stream unimpeded into our lives and it will be our individual responsibility to discern the positive from the negative.  The mutable signs will have the upper hand here as they have great natural facility with pure data.  The rest of us will have to pay extra attention.  It might be a good idea to befriend a Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarian or a Pisces.   Just hang out, watch, listen, and learn.

This is nothing like the years of struggle that we endured during the Cardinal Cross.  This will be fast.  This energy will require us to be accurate and impartial in our observations.  It will also require precision as well as flexibility.  Humility and a pure heart will serve us well.  There may not be many physical signposts or places to hang your philosophical hat.  And the conceptual nature of this adventure may be disconcerting.  The way may seem narrow and insubstantial at first.  Trust me.  Once you gain proficiency with the new energies, the narrow path will lead to a field where all things happen.  It might be a field of grass and it might be a field of stars.  This eclipse seals the deal.  Remember – it’s what you came to experience.  All of it.  Live it up!  And live it with love!
